Headquarters

Headquarters

The current headquarters in Via della Cooperazione were opened in 1964 on the site of a former quarry surrounded by furnaces which had long been abandoned. At the time, this was an uninhabited part of Bologna at the extreme edge of the metropolitan area. By the start of the 1990s, constant company development and the organisational requirements needed to meet the changing demands of the market necessitated a complete renovation of the company headquarters.
For operational reasons the cooperative decided to do more than just extend the existing facility. The idea of a special facade for the building and a monument on the grounds was thus conceived to provide a tangible sign of urban regeneration. The Red Helix statue, designed by the sculptor Giuliano Giuliani and made from interconnected, clambering pipes to symbolise the plumber’s trade, is a reminder of where we came from and points us towards the future.
